Job Description & Person Specification

Job Title:  Sessional Workshop Facilitator

Salary:  £15 per hour (inclusive of VAT, exclusive of expenses)

 

Context:

We are looking to recruit a new sessional facilitator to support our work in schools This role involves the delivery of workshops on issues of equality and critical thinking with young people. Details of the workshops that we currently deliver can be found here

This role is ideally suited to a freelance consultant as the amount of work will vary from month to month.

 

Key Tasks:

•  Delivering workshops on issues of equality to young people aged 7-18

•  Assisting in the development of workshops on issues of equality with young people aged 7-18

•  Monitoring and evaluating the work

•  Attending training days and events to keep up-to-date with developments in equality and education

 

Knowledge and Qualifications

•  In-depth understanding of equality and inclusion issues

•  Knowledge of equality legislation

•  Knowledge of a range of effective teaching and learning techniques and styles

•  Knowledge of classroom management

 

Experience

•   Experience of working with young people

•   Experience of teaching or delivering educational workshops

 

Skills and Competencies

•   Skilled and confident communication skills

•   Ability to adapt to the needs of every pupil, to ensure that all young people are included

•   Excellent interpersonal skills

•   Intermediate level IT skills in standard Microsoft packages

•   A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion

•   Ability to work with minimum supervision

•   A commitment to continuous personal development
